Established in 2010, T&K Enterprise has rose to become a leading maker of titanium bicycle frames in the biking enthusiasts market. T&K is highly regarded in the industry for its expertise in titanium welding, the company’s specially processed Ti-6Al-4V tubes have been recognized by Japan’s Good Design Award.
Ti-6Al-4V, also known has Grade 5 titanium, or Ti 6-4, is a titanium alloy that is extremely well suit for use as bicycle frames given its strength, lightness, and corrosion resistance. The alloy has 6 percent aluminum and 4 percent vanadium, thus the 6AL and 4V in its name.
Ti-6Al-4V is known to be difficult to smelt and process, which makes it relatively expensive.
The award winning Ti-6Al-4V tubes used in T&K’s bicycle frames are made using a helix roll processing method, involving extremely high technical hurdles.
The company’s Ti-6Al-4V tubes not only offer advantages both in terms of strength and packing, but the helix roll method itself has the benefit of reducing the costs of processing the alloy.
Combined with T&K’s expertise in titanium welding, the end product is a superior bicycle frame that is 20 percent stronger than other products on the market while also being competitive price-wise.
