Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications recently announced that with the existing bicycle trails on the east coast and the new trails on the west coast nearing completion, the country will be getting its round-the-island cycling trail by the end of this year.
A 939 kilometer round-the-island cycling trail.
According to the ministry, its plan is to have the round-the-island cycling trail ready by November. It will be a 939 kilometer long continuous trail that will also connect to other existing trails around the island.
A pit stop every 20 kilometers.
To meet the needs of long-distance cyclists, the ministry has also included pit stops every 20 kilometers on the 939km trail.
The pit stops are designed to house police stations, convenient stores, public toilets, showering facilities, and perhaps most importantly, tire pumping stations.
