The Taiwanese government is working on a five year plan to boost the island’s cloud computing industry worth to US$33 bn.
Taiwan’s industries will also actively take part in the plan. They include Chunghwa, Telecom, Inventec, and Syscom Group. At this year’s Computex 2011 they displayed applications using cloud technology for work, entertainment, medicine, education, and safety.
The Taiwan Cloud Computing Consortium, which consists of 110 industry players in terminal devices, networking, OS, and top up systems, indicated their business opportunities are embedded in infrastructure, platforms, and applications. They also indicated that Taiwan’s cloud development will be application driven.
