Taiwan will officially become the 43rd member of the globally recognized body on Jan. 1st 2013.
The development is a huge leap forward for Taiwan’s biotechnology sector, surpassing nearby industry rivals including Korea and Japan.
Taiwan’s PIC/S membership status is expected to draw the world’s biggest pharmaceutical firms to invest billions in the island’s thriving industry. Already 44 companies in Taiwan have been recognized by the PIC/S GMP standards. Taiwan’s official membership is very likely boost the island’s biotechnology exports to further new heights.
