Introduces a number of innovative products specially customized for the Middle Eastern market at GITEX 2015.
Taiwan’s ICT giants utilised the GITEX 2015 platform for increasing their market share within UAE’s ICT industry. Companies such as ASUS, QNAP, EnGenius, HiTi, PLANET, Draytek, HTC and Zyxel unveiled their latest products at GITEX 2015 along with several other industry leaders. These innovative brands have created a niche for themselves in the global market with their state-of-the-art technological product offerings.
The Taiwanese brands at GITEX have all received the Taiwan Excellence Award. This award is the highest accolade awarded to Taiwanese products that encapsulate innovation and value. This heralds the country’s ascent to world-class quality in product innovation, design and manufacturing, representing the highest standards which Taiwanese products must meet to maintain its competitive edge in the global markets.
“We have been in this market for several years now and have laid a strong foundation for our future growth. GITEX has been a great platform for us and we now aim to increase our market share with in the ICT sector in the UAE and the greater Middle East region. We have received a tremendous response from the trade visitors and buyers and this will enable us to further consolidate our position in 2016. We unveiled some really innovative products that are second to none. Our quality standards are one of the highest in the world,” stated Mr. Shyh Perng Chang, Director of Taiwan Trade Center Dubai.
Taiwanese companies account for about three-quarters of the world’s production of PCs and half of the world’s liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). In addition, Taiwan produces about a fifth of the world’s mobile phones and a quarter of its semiconductors.

UAE will continue to stay as one of the most sought after destinations for Taiwanese ICT brands and this show definitely serves as a highly influential platform for us,” added Mr. Chang.
HiTi displayed its printers including wireless, compact and high volume printers. PLANET showcased smart cloud home automation equipment with VoIP solution and Long Reach PoE / PoC Solution. QNAP focused on their flagship network attached storage and network video recorder products. EnGenius showcased state-of-the-art access point devices, switches and wireless gateways at the event.
ASUS Middle East showcased a selection of products from its innovative and extensive portfolio including the Zenpad UX 305, Zenpad S 8.0, and Gaming Desktop PC G20. With the tablet and gaming sectors experiencing strong year-on-year growth, the Middle East is one of the key markets for ASUS. ASUS also provide a sneak peek into the upcoming Zenwatch 2.
These globally renowned innovative Taiwanese ICT products will be at the GITEX booths located in Sheikh Rashid Hall, Stand: SR-I1 at GITEX Technology Week from 18th – 22nd October, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
As per Taiwan’s Computer Association, the exports of electronics and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) products grew 14.56 percent annually to AED415 billion in 2014, which signifies the global adoption of Taiwanese brands.
As per reports by TrendForce, Google has decided to create its second IoT (The Internet of Things) R&D center in Taiwan and this is the first outside of the United States. Thus, Taiwanese ICT firms will potentially be Google's first choice for overseas partners for IoT development, given their research abilities in components, system assembling, and fast-response industry clusters.
“We are delighted see the interest in our products at the show and we are confident that this interest will only grow further in the coming years. We have had a great GITEX as we unveiled 100 plus state-of-the-art products in Taiwan Excellence Pavilion. The participating companies from Taiwan have also benefitted tremendously from this event and we will come back with more power packed products the next year,” concluded Mr.Chang.
