Taiwan-based musicians performed in New York City at this year's CMJ Music Marathon, one of the world's most important platforms for the discovery of new music, on Oct. 13.
Taiwanese rapper 'Soft Lipa', Latin rap rock band 'Boxing', and Chinese Canadian pop rock band 'io' were featured in a "Taiwan Night" concert that was part of the event, according to GCA Entertainment, who jointly organized the concert with Taiwan's Ministry of Culture.
The annual CMJ Music Marathon also featured music performances, conferences and seminars in venues across New York.
Soft Lipa said he was excited to perform in New York, where rap music originated, and to bring Taiwanese-style rap to the city.
The annual event featured bands and artists who played at various clubs throughout the city, a way for industry professionals to discover new talent.
The Ministry of Culture has been sponsoring Taiwanese performers to showcase their talent and creativity globally at events such as this, with the hope of spreading Taiwan's creative energy.
