Held at the SMX Convention Center in Manila on May 21-24, IFEX Philippines is a biennial trade show where major global buyers can find ethnic Asian foods and ingredients. It is also the largest food show in the country.
The national pavilion operated by TAITRA featured 17 agricultural and food product suppliers from Taiwan. It was the largest national pavilion alongside Korea’s at IFEX Philippines this year.
Among the major exhibits on display at the Taiwan Pavilion were health promoting beverages, processed meat products, aquatic products, pastries, drinks, teas, jellies, and confectionery.
With a year-round warm and humid climate, the various Taiwanese style frozen treats and iced drinks at the pavilion were particularly popular among the visitors.
The diverse product offers by the Taiwanese suppliers gained great interest from worldwide buyers, including Hong Kong’s Best Sky Trading; Philippines’ MARTECK; a resort operator from Cebu; a food processing company based in Cagayang; and SHO FOOD, whose clients include major food distributors in the Philippines, including SM Supermarket and The Land Mark.
