Entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), TAITRA recently organized three seminars titled “Exploring Overseas Exhibitions and Business” in the cities of Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Taichung.
Held between February 5 and 9, 2015, the seminars provided enterprise attendees with information on the industry exhibitions held in the emerging markets and Africa. More than 100 industry representatives attended the seminars. Almost all of the attendees found the information helpful and they were overall very impressed with the sessions.
This year three speakers were invited to share their industry insights at the seminars. They were Ms. Tsai Artemis, General Manager of Shaan Honq Int’l Cosmetics Corp.; Ms. Susan Wang, Managing Director of AFTA Technology Co., Ltd (FCS Group) and Chairman of TABA Taiwan Africa Business Association; and Mr. Ya-Fu Cheng, the senior Project Manager of TAITRA, who is a specialist in the West African market and has stationed in Nigeria for six years.
The three speakers shared their in-depth experiences in their respective overseas markets and offered their valuable insights regarding the key exhibitions in the regions. For example, through attending MOFA’s overseas exhibitions, Shaan Honq has accumulated significant market share in Central America, Africa, and East Europe. Last Year, the company found qualified agents in Nigeria, South Africa, and Mozambique, which are important milestones for the company’s endeavors into the markets. With their valuable knowledge of the markets, the three speakers gave useful and captivating lectures that their audience requested more seminars.
Every year, MOFA entrusts TAITRA to arrange 24 overseas events in countries that share diplomatic ties with Taiwan and also in markets where important exhibitions are held. As many of the exhibitions are not very well-known in Taiwan, the seminars have become key platforms in MOFA’s efforts to encourage more Taiwanese enterprises to join overseas events and expand their global reach.
