Researchers from the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) of Taiwan recently completed a 7-day, 1,000 km, round the island tour of Taiwan on a hydrogen fueled electric scooter named Pegasus One.
The Pegasus One was developed by Professor Wei-Hsiang Lai’s research team in cooperation with local enterprises.
According to the professor, the “Pegasus One” was developed from an electric scooter to the current hybrid power combining fuel cell and lithium battery. The addition of fuel cell significantly enhanced the scooter’s travel range.
He also said that the overall vehicle structure was revised, especially its power and monitoring system.
Because of the high efficiency of fuel cell and the clean energy of hydrogen, the scooter can offer high performance while emitting only water moisture as its by-product.
