Mobiletron Chairman Kim Tsai recently announced the company's plans for the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) market, which will cover a variety of segments, including cold chain logistics, children shuttle buses, ambulances, and police vehicles.
According to Tsai, Mobiletron plans to deploy its IoV solutions in Taiwan, China, Europe, and the United States, which will also enable the company to seize the new market opportunities generated by Industry 4.0.
With the growing prevalence of 4G mobile networks, more and more carmakers have started to implement complex IoV applications in their new cars.
Being a leading manufacturer of auto parts, Mobiletron is aiming to satisfy its customers' needs by offering IoV solutions that incorporate its own diverse range of auto products, which includes wireless tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), HD cameras, around view systems (AVM), and night vision systems.
For the Taiwan market, Mobiletron has announced that it will be collaborating with RAC Electric Vehicles Inc., an all-electric low-floor city bus manufacturer, to test Mobiletron's new IoV solutions.
For the China market, Mobiletron indicated that it will be working with the local logistics operators to test its cold chain IoV solutions and facilitate them in their delivery of perishable goods.
According to Tsai, Mobiletron also has plans to discuss cooperation with IBM about utilizing big data for remote monitoring, communications, and machine control.
Mobiletron's current IoV solutions require only a smartphone to perform integrated functions that link together communication, data, and imagery.
