Taiwanese battery maker, Power Source Energy, has long been promoting the use of LFP batteries on golf carts in China, where the company is replacing 180kg lead acid batteries with its 35kg LFP light weight powerhouses. The huge reduction in weight has many benefits, including less power consumption and minimal parts wear. The company has gotten rave reviews from golf courses. “There are around 5 million golf carts in the world today,” said Power Source Energy president, Dr. Jim Lee, “and the average life of a lead acid battery is about two years, that means 250 million or more golf carts will need battery replacements every year.”
