Japan’s Fanuc is to move in to Taichung Industrial Park as soon as May. It may well become the first foreign company to take advantage of the ECFA origin certificate policy. The company is to setup assembly lines for CNC lathe controllers.
Taiwan’s government is taking a two-pronged approach to help the country’s machine tools industry. Taiwan is encouraging foreign companies to setup operations in the country. The government is also stepping up investments to boost local talent in the research and development of digital machine tool control systems.
