Canada Inks Customs Cooperation with Taiwan

"This agreement will help the two sides' customs regulators share their experiences" and will enable Taiwan to play a greater role in the WTO, the World Customs Organization and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the statement read. The accord was signed separately by David Lee, Taiwan's top envoy to Canada, and his Canadian counterpart, Scott Fraser. In 2010, the two sides inked a memorandum of understanding on a working holiday program for young adults. Later in the same year, Canada granted visa waiver treatment to Taiwanese nationals.
