Global efforts in developing big data and the Internet of Things are expected to give a boost to Taiwan's information services industry, the Market Intelligence Center recently said.
On the back of development in these two sectors, Taiwan's information service market is estimated to grow to US$5.78 billion in 2018, the center said.
Operating under the government-sponsored Institute for Information Industry, the Center added that the compound annual growth rate of the sector is expected to grow 4.5 percent during the four-year period, indicating stable growth.
Meanwhile, the center said that the cloud technology-based segment in the information services sector is expected to enjoy a 9.3 percent increase in the compound annual growth rate over the next four years, the highest growth among all segments in the sector, ahead of a 4.2 percent increase in the system integration segment, and a 3.8 percent increase in the outsourcing segment.
